X-Men Legends II is an action role-playing game. It unites two Marvel Comics superhero teams, the heroic X-Men and the villainous Brotherhood of Mutants as they together face the mutant supervillain Apocalypse and his minions. Players can choose up to four characters to use at once from a larger roster. Players unlock additional characters as they proceed through the game. Four players can play on one machine cooperatively, and players can join or leave at any time. The game also features online play for up to four players, a first for the series. A new game plus mode is included that allows players to play through the game a second time while retaining all character stats.

As characters gain experience points their mutant superpowers and unique abilities can be upgraded. Items found during gameplay can also be equipped to further enhance a character's abilities. Characters can combine attacks to create a combo, in which two or more players punch or kick a single enemy at the same time. The character's special abilities can also be used in the same manner to create a Super Combo which inflicts massive damage on enemies. Each character has several mutant powers that players can assign to controller buttons. The game also features a skirmish mode, which allows players to fight against each other or waves of computer-controlled enemies.

As for the story, it’s a confusing affair that largely requires you to shoot everyone that moves, as well as everyone that stands staring into middle distance seemingly oblivious to your presence. An almost literal shooting gallery, give or take the odd lean round a corner, this is run-and-gun gameplay at its most basic, whether clearing cave complexes, searching palaces, or escorting weirdly invincible hostages to safety. After the awful first level the game does improve marginally, despite throwing up every cliche under the sun; at one point, an exploding helicopter forces you to escape through the sewers.

Resident Evil 5 is a fun and frantic evolution of RE4′s breakthrough gameplay and the series’ horror themes. Thirteen years ago, Capcom helped revolutionize the action adventure world with Resident Evil, a game that would define an entirely new genre dubbed “survival horror.” In the years that followed, the series continued to build upon the standards set by the first game, Then, in 2005, Resident Evil 4 radically departed from its predecessors and broke new ground as a more action oriented game. Resident Evil 5, the latest offering in the long running series, expands on the action heavy formula of its forerunner and is built from the ground up to support cooperative gameplay. Though it can no longer be considered a survival horror game, Resident Evil 5 manages to retain and effectively translate the most important aspect of that genre tension into its new mechanics. It crafts a fun, collaborative experience that will keep you on your toes the entire time.

Dead to Rights is a third-person shooter produced by Namco. It was released on June 3, 2002 as a timed exclusive for the Xbox, and releases for the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube followed thereafter. A year after its console debut, the game was released for Microsoft Windows. It was followed by Dead to Rights II in 2004/2005 and Dead to Rights: Retribution on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010. Dead to Rights makes use of bullet time, a popular gameplay contrivance of the time. The game advertises itself as drawing inspiration from Hong Kong action cinema, i.e. gun fu. The player is sometimes accompanied by a canine partner who can attack enemies on command, who will automatically kill whatever enemy he’s aimed at and then bring the player whatever the enemy was carrying (to keep the dog from being too powerful, it can only be used when a meter for it fills up). In some puzzle sections, the player actually takes direct control of the canine to reach areas that the human character cannot.

Manhunt is a stealth-based psychological horror video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It was released in North America on November 18, 2003 for the PlayStation 2 and on April 20, 2004 for Xbox and PC, and in Europe on November 21 for the PS2 and on April 23 for the Xbox and PC. Although it was generally well received by critics, Manhunt is more well known for its high controversy due to the level of graphic violence in which the player is encouraged to engage. Such was the controversy that the game was banned in several countries, and implicated in a murder by the UK media, although this implication was later rejected by the police and courts. In October 2007, a sequel, Manhunt 2, was released to an even greater level of controversy. As of March 26, 2008, the Manhunt franchise has sold 1.7 million copies worldwide.
