How to make Windows Media Player play all files like VLC

Most of the people in this world use different players to play media files. VLC is the most popular media player in the world because it can play every media files which exists. But the default media player on Windows 7 is WMP i.e. Windows Media Player. It is also a good media player which can play most of the media files. It doesn't support .3gp, .flv, .ogg, etc files. 

In this tutorial, I will show you how to enable WMP to play all files like VLC.

Follow the steps

1. Download K-Lite Codec Pack.

2. Open the downloaded file and click 'Next' until you see this,

3. Tick Windows Media Player and click 'Next'. You will see this - 

4. Click 'Select All Video' and 'Select All Video' and click 'Next'.

5. Again 'Select All Video' and 'Select All Video' and click 'Next'.

6. Now click 'Select All' and click 'Next'.

7. Choose the option that suits you sound configuration and click 'Next'.

8. Now click 'Install'.

~ The setup will complete and make your WMP play all media files like VLC Media Player.

Note

If the media file is not set to play with WMP then do this.

1. Right Click the media file > Open With > Choose default program.

2. A dialogue box will appear, select Windows Media Player and click 'OK'.

Done, Now play all files with WMP.
